Senior Kids Acting
Welcome to Screen Acting for Senior Kids at APS!
A fun, practical program for students in Grades 3 - 6, designed to build confidence, creativity, and real acting skills for both screen and stage.
Each class begins with fun, energetic improvisation games to warm up, build confidence, and spark creativity.
Term 1 & 2 Creative Screen Project:
In the first half of the year, Senior Kids will explore what it’s like to create a short-form screen project—this could be a comedy skit, a mockumentary moment, a mini trailer, or another fun short idea developed as a group. APS provides a supportive creative environment where students can workshop ideas, build characters, shape concepts, and learn how a project moves from brainstorming to screen. Our tutors guide the process, offer structure, and help groups stay on track.
This is a real creative journey and the final outcome depends entirely on the students’ weekly input, collaboration, and commitment. This gives them a true taste of real-world creative responsibility while keeping the experience fun, achievable, and empowering within 2-hour weekly classes. APS professionally edits the students’ film concepts and prepares them for the in-house APS screening at end of Term 2.
Every group’s project will look a little different—and that’s part of the excitement. We wrap up with a relaxed in-house screening at APS Moorabbin on Saturday 18th July.
Terms 3 & 4: Acting for Stage
In the second half of the year, students shift into stage performance.
They will:
• Explore scenes from TV, film, and theatre
• Rehearse character work, voice, movement, and ensemble performance
• Prepare polished scenes for the stage
The year concludes with a live theatre performance on Saturday 6th December.
Be part of Screen Acting: Senior Kids in 2026, where imagination, confidence, and performance skills come to life on screen and stage!
