Step inside the studio and experience the creative heart of APS! Across one fun, inspiring week, students of all ages can join our paid trial sessions to explore acting, musical theatre, and industry-driven on-camera training before 2026 enrolments open.
A playful, energetic and confidence-building introduction to the world of screen performance. Our Acting Trials give students a real taste of APS’s signature approach — where imagination, teamwork and self-expression take centre stage. Junior Kids discover storytelling through movement and games, Senior Kids explore improvisation and short scripts that bring characters to life, and Teens dive into scene work and on-camera techniques used in professional training. Each class blends fun and focus, helping students feel confident and inspired in front of the camera. The session also features a viewing of student-made comedy reels created throughout 2025, showcasing the creative, humorous, and collaborative energy that our students bring to their work — and giving newcomers a glimpse into the kind of projects they could be part of next year.
These focused sessions are designed for young performers ready to take the next step. In a dynamic, on-camera environment, students learn the essentials of self-taping, audition technique and screen performance — the same practical skills used by working actors. Guided through real TV and film material, they’ll see how small adjustments in focus, intention and delivery can make a big impact on screen. The Industry Driven Trial mirrors the structure of APS’s advanced pathways, giving participants an authentic look at how we help young talent move from the classroom to professional opportunities. These classes are ideal for confident students eager to refine their craft or explore what it means to train at a pre-professional level.
A joyful celebration of performance where acting, singing and dancing combine! Each Musical Theatre Trial captures the excitement and teamwork of our full-term classes. Students warm up their voices, learn simple choreography, and bring characters to life through expressive storytelling and song. Junior classes focus on building rhythm and confidence through playful exploration, while Senior Kids and Teens dive deeper into stagecraft, ensemble performance and character work. Every session is lively, inclusive and filled with creative energy — perfect for kids and teens who love to perform or want to build self-belief in a supportive environment.
Every trial class ends with a 30-minute Q&A, where parents and families are warmly invited into the studio to meet the team, ask questions, and learn more about our 2026 programs, pathways and performance opportunities.
