ABOUT THE CLASS
Welcome to Screen Acting Technique for Adults at Acting Performance Studio—an immersive journey into the world of screen acting, finely tailored for adults ready to elevate their craft. Our studio is dedicated to refining your skills, focusing on self-tapes, audition techniques, and creative expression through improvisation.
Class Highlights:
- Develop essential screen acting techniques for auditions and tests, with a specialized focus on self-tapes.
- Engage in improvisation exercises to stimulate spontaneity and unleash imaginative expression.
- Learn advanced script analysis techniques.
- Focus on vocal technique and physicality to bring characters to life authentically.
- Review and analyse your scene work with playback monitors.
- Thrive in a nurturing class environment, fostering personal and professional growth.
Creative Outcomes:
- Scenes on Stage Performance: At the conclusion of Term 2, embrace the opportunity to perform scenes on stage to a live audience, providing a taste of the theatre acting experience. The performance dates will be confirmed during the year as one of the following: 25th, 26th, 27th, 29th, or 30th June. The venue for the performance will be Moorabbin Town Hall.
- Showreels: In Term 3, adults will delve into the world of showreel scenes, honing and shooting scenes tailored for their unique casting profiles. These scenes will be presented at the APS Cinematic Showcase in December, offering a platform to showcase your refined skills.
Note:
For Adult showreels in Term 3, participants will be grouped into pairs or trios for their showreel (depending on class numbers). The showreels will range from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 2 minutes in length. All showreels will be filmed on location at APS Studios (Moorabbin or Narre Warren). Each student is expected to perform in one showreel, with the possibility of doubling up to assist another actor's scene if required (subject to APS tutors' expertise and advice). Following the Cinema Showcase in December, students will receive a download link for their showreels.
