Course Description

APS offers private lessons in singing, acting and audition technique to those who need specific one-on-one guidance.

ACTING / AUDITION TECHNIQUE:

Private tuition is generally not recommended for beginners, as we feel that a class environment is a much better overall experience, focusing on various aspects of acting including interacting with other actors.

However, it’s certainly an ideal and valuable tool when you need a little additional training prior to a performance, exam or an audition.

We have several highly qualified and experienced tutors who each have their strengths and areas of expertise.
For those interested in private tuition, we will communicate with you to determine what you wish to achieve, then based on the information provided, we will then match you with the tutor best suited to you and your needs. Most of our private lessons are held in our Moorabbin Studio, however we may be able to accommodate lessons in Brunswick or Ringwood if necessary. The time and location can be worked out mutually between you and the tutor to find something that works.

The cost of a 1 hour private tuition session (during business hours) in our Moorabbin from $80.

Additional charges may apply for private tuition in Brunswick or Ringwood, or for evening/weekend sessions.

We also offer online private classes for remote, interstate and international students.

“My lessons can be a challenge but I always remind my students to think about technical work in class and in their practice. At the end of the day singing is all about communication and story telling so if technique methods are taking over and effecting their performance put it aside and trust that the work they have done outside of their performance will instinctively work. It’s all about the work they put into it in their own time.”

Learn:

  • How to use the right muscles balanced with relaxation to breath efficiently for singing.
  • Posture
