This dynamic acting for camera course is suitable for students new to acting through to the more advanced working actor wishing to stay primed. Each term students will explore a range of skills including script analysis, character development, skills for screen tests and camera technique. Our highly experienced tutors (professional working actors, directors and/or filmmakers) support the training with expert advice and tips, whilst encouraging students to be the very best they can be. (Please note, sometimes tutors may be changed at the discretion of APS).
DUE TO COVID-19 OUR TERM 2 CLASSES ARE BEING TAUGHT VIA THE VIDEO CONFERENCE APP ZOOM. WE ARE RETURNING TO FACE TO FACE CLASSES IN TERM 3!
Short film festival:
Each of our screen acting classes work on a short film throughout the year. Students will contribute to developing the script and characters, assist in the film-making process, and act in their short film. The films are screened at a cinema in term 4 as part of our annual ‘Short Film Festival’, and will also be available for viewing on our YouTube channel. Films are judged by a panel of experts from APS for consideration in our Short Film Festival Awards (held at the end of the year) where nominees are awarded certificates and winners are awarded trophies.
